Homeschooling can be very challenging, even frightening, to a parent new to educating their children at home. Even veteran homeschool parents come across new challenges. We all need some guidance every now and then.

I am very passionate about homeschooling and love sharing what I have learned during my 22 plus years of teaching my four children at home. How may I help you today?

Sometimes you just need to spend time talking with someone who will listen to your situation and give you specific help for your family and child's specific needs.

Because of my years of experience and owning Yellow House Book Rental, I am often approached for homeschooling advice and I love it! I have learned a great deal through trial and error over the years.

You are important! Each and every family and homeschool situation is unique, and giving you my best takes time as I talk with you to learn about and discuss your homeschooling needs and questions. Our time may require additional research on my part so that I can equip you with links to sites and curriculum that may benefit you. In order to give you the time you deserve, I offer scheduled phone consultations. (See details below for prices and discounts available)

One hour is usually enough to examine most issues. If not, we can schedule more time after the initial phone conversation. During this hour, we can discuss, curriculum questions, scheduling, teaching multiple ages, preparing teens for graduation and life after high school, home management, parenting and discipline in the homeschooling life. Encouraging, and supporting will always be my ultimate goal. All conversations will be, of course, completely confidential.

Fortunately, there are many resources available to homeschoolers in facing and resolving questions and challenges. After that one hour session, I would be happy to share those with you by putting together and sending you an email, with information and links to resources and curriculum that will specifically meet your needs and wants for your homeschool (at no extra charge)

My Bio

I am the CEO and founder of Yellow House Book Rental, specializing in providing homeschool curriculum for rent or purchase, as well as counseling and guidance for homeschool families. I am also a wife of 32 years, a 22-year homeschool veteran, and mom of four amazing children and five grandchildren. Three of our children are now entrepreneurs, running their own businesses and doing quite well. My passions include serving by leading worship at my church and encouraging homeschool moms through one on one, social media and speaking engagements. I have found my niche in helping parents homeschooling their teens through the high school years and on to pursue their dreams.

Although my preferred style of teaching is eclectic, I have been known to add some unit studies here and there. I believe that every child is unique, God’s beautiful and wonderful handiwork. With uniqueness comes individual learning styles. Knowing how your child ticks, their strengths, and weaknesses are key to making homeschool a success. Whether your child is a gifted learner or struggles in many areas, I would love to encourage you and help you find what's best for your homeschool. I look forward to talking with you.

You will receive an email with 24 hours of purchasing with information on how to schedule your consultation. (if purchased on a weekend or holiday, you will receive the email on the following weekday)
When you schedule your consultation you will be asked what your most pressing topics are that you want to discuss.
When we talk, by Zoom or phone, your preference, we will discuss your specific needs. I will give you information, resources and suggestions.
I will then follow up with at least one email to help you feel confident as you continue this amazing journey!

"Our 17 year old daughter, has struggled with an extraordinary amount of health issues since she was 14. K. is our youngest child and the only one left at home. When she entered her Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years we were faced with health issues ranging from two hip surgeries three months apart, complex migraine that left her unresponsive for seven hours and extensive memory loss that left her unable to attend school for three months... Her high school worked with us and we all managed to get her to this point in her education. However, upon trying the Homestudy Program for the first time this past semester, they utterly failed her. Without going into details, we concluded that it was time to return to a homeschool environment. I had reservations as to how to keep track of her credits as well as the ability to know when a student has succeeded in completing said credits. I am starting mid year and we have a goal to complete her needed credits in less than a year. Michelle has been instrumental in helping us get started.
